Nothing can prepare you for the excitement and satisfaction of mastering this traditional skill. From early hunters, the added speed of the horse combined with the accuracy of the bow has given horseback archers an incredible advantage.  This skill requires accuracy, balance, horsemanship and speed, all of which are taught during your stay.  During this holiday you will spend 3 days learning the basic skills you will need to shoot arrows from your horse whilst being steeped in the history and culture of this landscape. You will also be encouraged to look after your horse during your stay, getting in some quality horse-time! By the end of your holiday, if a competent rider, you should be making shots at canter.

Your stay will include three full days of archery and riding within the Kintyre peninsula, with experienced guides and characterful horses.

ACCOMMODATION Three nights at our traditional stone farmhouse within the tranquil Kerran Glen – additional nights can be booked if required.

FOOD; Hearty, home-cooked evening meals and lunches at the farmhouse including much of our own produce or, sometimes, at Jacqui’s fine restaurant nearby.  Each morning there will be a delicious breakfast with a different ‘special’ each day.  Alcoholic drinks not included.

TRANSFERS We will collect you on the Thursday or Sunday evening (depending on dates) at 6pm from Campbeltown airport or bus-stop and drop you back there after the session on Sunday or Wednesday in time for the evening bus/flight.  Any transfers required during the holiday are included.  Public transport by bus or plane (Loganair) is available to Campbeltown.

This adventure is available to riders who are competent and confident at canter.  It does require a reasonable level of fitness.  You will be provided with further details and a full kit list on booking.
